WORRIER SHIRT, 2025
With Worrier Shirts, I wanted to explore the question:
What does it mean to worry with someone else?
Can we share our mental load, or do we risk becoming entangled?
The work draws inspiration from children’s lacing toys and traditional prayer shirts. Participants are invited to wear the shirt and thread ropes through its openings, facing one another. As they do, they might focus on their worries—or simply let their thoughts wander.
This piece considers how repetitive gestures can quiet the mind by creating a ritual that is both simple and shared. I’m interested in how the act of doing can offer comfort, predictability, and a temporary release from the loops of overthinking.
